FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CBD

Hemp Oil contains a wide spectrum of potential health benefits, including one commonly known acronym, CBD, related to the many molecules found in hemp. The hemp plant contains a number of different natural plant chemicals, known as phytocannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids.

What Is CBD PCR Hemp Oil?

CBD PCR Hemp Oil is an acronym for Phyto-Cannabinoid Rich, a direct reference to the sum total number and variety of cannabinoids found in the oil. CBD is only one known cannabinoid. Our CBD PCR Hemp Oil contains over 100 different types of cannabinoids, and represents a truly full spectrum, phyto-cannabinoid rich oil, which may help deliver a broad range of full therapeutic benefits for your dog, cat, small animal or horse. Our oil is also human grade.

What Is Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil?

CBD has become a catch all phrase in the hemp industry. The Hemp plant contains over 100 hundred naturally cannabinoids and other compounds found in the cannabis sativa plant and belongs to a class of molecules called cannabinoids.

Full Spectrum is a term used widely in the CBD hemp industry, however, it is uniquely difficult to produce a truly natural and organic form of CBD PCR hemp oil. Petabis™ Organics can prove that our CBD Hemp Oil is TRULY FULL SPECTRUM.

Most CBD oils on the market are not truly full spectrum as they are derived from a single cannabinoid, containing just CBD. Most CBD oils on the market are actually in isolate form. CBD isolate is a chemically produced, lab formulated oil, despite the "natural" messaging it may bear.

In order to be a truly full spectrum CBD oil, it must contain all therapeutic parts of the plant, including all cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, and cannot be a single isolate strain. Over 95% of the CBD oils on the market are isolates and NOT full spectrum CBD oils. Our oils are full spectrum, USDA organic and human grade.

Why Does Every Brand Claim Full Spectrum?

Every brand is presently claiming full spectrum CBD products whether they lab manipulate or chemically synthesize a variety of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids into their CBD products. The main difference is they cannot claim NATURALLY DERIVED FULL SPECTRUM, like Petabis Organics products  because they use a chemical C02 extraction. Until oversight is in place to establish and regulate standards, this practice will likely continue. Keep this in mind; if a brand uses C02 extraction, it cannot produce truly full spectrum CBD product.

How Can CBD Hemp Oil Potentially Help Address So Many Health Issues At One Time?

The reason CBD PCR Hemp Oil may work so well for so many potential conditions is due to its specific effects on the Endocannabinoid System, and how that system impacts other body systems.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) system is innate to the central regulatory system in the mammalian brain (human and animal), and is found throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems and is directly tied to immune health in all body organs, cells, tissues and systems.

Cannabinoid receptors act as binding sites for these endogenous cannabinoids in the body. When cannabinoids bind to the receptor sites, known as CB1 and CB2, they act to change the way the body functions.

CBD Hemp Oil molecules may exert the most pronounced affect on brain tissues and can safely cross the blood-brain barrier to potentially affect balance in the nervous systems, which may be especially valuable when dogs, cats, small animals and horses experience distress, anxiety nervous disorders, discomfort, Central Nervous disorders, or imbalances in the endocrine system.

What is an Endocannabinoid System?

petabis receptors cannibis receptors hemp receptors cb1 receptor cb2 receptor

The Endocannabinoid System is a system belonging to all mammals, including dogs and cats, and is part of the central and peripheral nervous systems, immune and neurological system plus all organs, and contains receptors (CB1, CB2) that are tasked with receiving and responding to nutritional cannabinoids, naturally found in your pet's body.

The Endocannabinoid System is involved in a number of body responses related to hunger, discomfort, illness, mood, immune health and memory.

Endocannabinoids may help nourish and stimulate the Encocannabinoid receptors that are found in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. The endocannabinoid system is also tasked with maintaining immune and cellular balance internally, known as homeostasis, despite external forces that might otherwise interrupt balance in the animal's systems.

What Are Cannabinoid Receptors?

endo cannibinoid system dog endocannibinoid system pet endocannibinoid system

There are two primary cannabinoid receptors: CB1 receptors which are predominantly found in the nervous system, connective tissues, reproductive organs, glands, and organs and typically have the most pronounced effect on the brain, liver, kidney, lungs, digestion, GABA neurotransmission and aid in the lipogenesis of fatty acids; and CB2 receptors are predominantly found in the immune system and its associated structures with the most pronounced affect on promoting health in the immune system (balanced immunity) as well as promoting health of cells, blood, glands (most predominantly the thymus gland) and the spleen.

Why Is Hemp Oil Potentially Good for Dogs, Cats, Small Animals and Horses?

CBD PCR Hemp Oil may help provide symptomatic relief for all mammals with both chronic and intermittent symptomatic conditions.

It has been attributed with helping to address symptoms of arthritis, compromised immune systems, distress response, aggression and digestive issues in pets. There are also numerous studies under way into CBD PCR Hemp Oil potential effects on Type 1 diabetes, organ diseases and cancer.

CBD PCR Hemp Oil may also be helpful in addressing pain response related to torn ligaments, sprains and strains, broken bones, joint, muscle and arthritis issues, over performing or under performing immune response, skin and coat issues and may help speed recovery from operations.

OUR PATENTED CBD WATER VAPOR EXTRACTION PROCESS

How Is Our CBD PCR Hemp Oil Extracted?

Petabis™ Organics CBD PCR (Phyto-Cannabinoid Rich) HEMP products are cultivated using a unique patented water vapor extraction method.

Vapor Distilled cannabis oils are made using a patented, revolutionary thermal extraction process developed using a:

  • Our proprietary hemp strain plants are exposed to heated air & proprietary condensation method for 2 seconds, which selectively vaporizes, decarbs cannabinol, removes THC & distills the active compounds of the plant
  • Patented water vapor extraction method processes in seconds instead of minutes or hours & instantly activates oil when extracted, preserving beneficial terpenes, flavonoids & cannabinoid strains profiles intact and in their natural state
  • Plant & oil materials are separated as vapor is condensed, creating a consistent concentrated CBD PCR hemp oil extract, which other organic oils (and brands) cannot substantiate
  • Highest extract terpene and extract cannabinoid count on the planet (2.49% terpenes and 100+ cannabinoids)
  • Whole flower extract produces nutty, buttery taste, removing chlorophylls and bitter flavors behind, unlike our competitors
  • Naturally extracted without the use of harmful solvents such as ethanol used commonly in C02 extraction, also known as pressurized air as our competitors like to reference, or other adulterants such as butane, hexane and pentane - ONLY heated air contacts the plant material
  • Ultra-pure, activated cannabis extract has stronger effects than oil produced with other extraction processes and should be noticeable with use

Our CBD PCR Hemp Oil is NOT derived from isolates, nor C02 extraction which uses chemical solvents, but rather the whole plant, which produces a truly full spectrum extract of the plant.

Our competitors like to call their extraction process pressurized air, but you can Google C02 extraction to learn that it is a chemical extraction that uses solvents like ethanol, butane, pentane, hexane and propane to create their oils. Thus, "pressurized air" is code for C02 Extraction using carcinogenic chemicals.

By comparison, our patented extraction method allows us to deliver over 100 known cannabinoids and a 2.49% terpene count-the highest in the world, WITHOUT CHEMICALS, ensuring you are buying the purest, most concentrated and  nutrient dense, natural phytochemical rich oil for your pets. We can prove it!

We publish our independent extraction results, which clearly proves how our oils are the most nutrient dense and consistently concentrated oils. See more below.

Should I Refrigerate My Oil?

Yes, it is recommended and in compliance with FDA guidelines. If the oil separates upon refrigeration, just shake it up and it will blend again. CBD and MCT Coconut oils are polarized, and will naturally separate upon refrigeration.

What Happens If I Leave My Oil Out On The Counter?

Your oil should be fine due to the natural phytochemistry of the plant, which is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-septic etc. The natural plant chemistry of our oils help keep it safe even when exposed to heat, sunlight, etc.

Why Would My Oil Change From A Liquid To Semi Solid?

Our CBD product contains two types of oils: USDA Organic CBD oil and USDA Organic MCT Coconut Oil. You may have to shake your bottle to re-introduce the oils, which may naturally separate if the bottle is left still or unused.

Are There Contraindications or Drug Interactions with CBD?

CBD may interact with Warfarin and Coumadin, and may increase the risk of bleeding. CBD may potentiate some heart medications so please consult with your veterinarian.

May interact with the following medications:

Theophylline

Clobazam

Valproate

CBD may also affect how the liver metabolizes some drugs and enzymes used by the liver to break down medications, including drugs that are affected by cytochrome P450 (CYP) family of enzymes.

How Our Plants Are Grown Matters

Our plants are grown utilizing regenerative agriculture and a permaculture growing platform.  A permaculture platform  is a system that is designed to work with nature to create a truly sustainable and self-sufficient ecosystem. We use organic farming practices and adhere to rigorous standards, thus we are the only company to truly state we are USDA Certified Organic operation. We are able to cultivate year round using both green houses and field grown hemp varietals, in a near zero energy environment and rely on the positive relationship between animals, plants and humans to achieve the highest quality  and sustainability in harvesting.

Do Our CBD Products Contain THC?

Our plants contain well below the legal limit of .3 % THC. Our CBD products contain approximately .014 % THC. THC must be present at time of extraction to product a truly full array of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids.

Is CBD An Adaptogen? What Is An Adaptogen?

CBD is included in a specialized category of plants referred to as adaptogens. An adaptogen exerts what we call the "3 R Function" or read, repair and restore.

In the simplest of terms, adaptogens carry out  a Read function, (identify dysfunction), a Repair function (nutritionally and phytochemically corrective action) and a Restore function (encourage balanced immunity and proper cellular function).

An adaptogen can exert an effect on the body to help identify deficiency or dysfunction, help repair phytochemically and nutritionally and then help restore balance, also known as homeostasis.

An adaptogen helps build resistance naturally to stress, foreign invaders such as pathogens and allergens, related to physical, chemical and biological factors, across varying body systems.

Adaptogens function as auto-sensing therapeutics, and are an invaluable tool for assisting health and wellness not only when conditions are known, but as well as when a condition is idiopathic, of unknown.
